Sevilla, day 2

Tuesday was a hot day in Sevilla. We went to a few places that all toursts visit, and there were lots of people everywhere we went.

First we walked around the Barrio de Santa Cruz, which has REALLY tiny streets, much too small for a car. There are historic buildings, gardens, and many restaurants and shops for tourists. If you want a torero or flamenco costume, come to Sevilla.

After waiting in line behind other tourists, we went into the huge, large, gigantic Cathedral. Because we always climb bell towers in churches, we walked to the top of the Giralda, where the Cathedral's bells were not ringing. Lucky for us!

Our final tourist stop was the Alcazar, which was first a fortress and later a home for Spanish kings. It has a very long history, and it's easy to see that people of different cultures lived in its buildings.

Today's pictures are all faces. I always like to photograph gargoyles (sort of evil spirits that protect churches), faces on buildings and fountains, and faces on signs for stores. One of the photos below is a marker in the street, and I don't know if it really is a face. You decide.
